Objective of the conference
As societies become increasingly multicultural, libraries are faced with new challenges in terms of servicing ethnic and cultural minorities.
In order to accommodate these demographic and linguistic changes, library services are called upon to continuously adapt their methods and to initiate new projects. As facilitators of integration projects and intercultural dialogue, libraries often have a key role to play in the everyday life of the local community.
The objective is to enable innovative projects that may lead to groundbreaking results, to create new networks and services, and establish fresh partnerships, both nationally and internationally.
The target group
The conference is focused on those within the field of integration and those who have a special interest in integration and multiculturalism. With a special focus on libraries, the conference also welcomes the different organizations and institutions that provide services to a culturally diverse community; Librarians, educators, researchers, politicians and practitioners.
The conference organizers
The conference is organized by the network Nordic Best Practice. The network consists of The State and University Library of Denmark, The National Library of Norway and The National Library of Sweden. This year the conference is hosted by The Danish Library Centre for Integration, The State and University Library of Denmark
