Nordic Library Conference 2011

Nordic Library Conference2

The Danish State and University Library invites you to participate in:

An international conference with focus on Multicultural Library Services

The conference is to be held 25th - 26th of August 2011 in Copenhagen. You can subscribe to our conference mailing list and be kept up to date with the program and latest announcements.

The world of library services is constantly changing as the demographic characteristics of populations around the globe are changing. The world’s societies are becoming more multi-lingual. These linguistically sophisticated populations also have varied and multifaceted cultural identities representing a broad range of ethnic backgrounds. Libraries, faced with the challenges posed by this increasing diversity, have adapted and continue to do so, to best support the needs of these populations.

Libraries have long been on the cusp of the changes taking place in our world. Paving the way for the multicultural reality in which we live. That’s why the ‘World of Diversity’ international conference aims to bring together practitioners, researchers, leaders, politicians, partners and other interested parties to discuss the latest research, the most innovative approaches and today’s best practice.

With input from around the world, the Nordic Library Conference will examine the where we are today; lay the groundwork for tomorrow; and successfully lead the world of library services for multicultural populations into the coming decade.
