General aims
- To make the participants familiar with the contents and facilities of the most important social science databases
- To train the participants in the use of the databases as an integrated element in academic problem-based learning, focusing on political science
Specific aims
- To demonstrate the databases ProQuest, Web of Science, Scopus and others and to introduce the bibliographic and fulltext content, criterias for inclusion, search facilities, special points of interest
- Via hands-on, questions and answers, excercises and discussions to train the use of political and social science databases and in particular how to do a systematic search, how to develop a search strategy, how to evaluate search results etc.
