Author Identity - about an education for authors that writes for children and young people

Dag Larsen is an author and the educational leader at The Norwegian Institute of Children’s Books. Mahmona Khan is one of his pupils who have been successful with her book releases. Together they talk about the author education and how it is to build a writer's identity and make a difference.

Dag Larsen was born in 1952. He has written poems, novels and children's books. In 1986 he received the Ministry of Culture's award for picture book text for the children's book "The boy who would own the snow" illustrated by Arne Samuelsen. Dag Larsen has worked in several organizations. He was chairman of the festival Son Poetry Days from 1993 to 2000, and leader of the association Norwegian Writers for Children (NBU) from 1998 to 2004. He is the educational leader at The Norwegian Institute of Children’s Book’s since 2006.

Mahmona Khan was born in Oslo in 1973. Khansparents migrated from Pakistan in the 70s. She finished her studies with the Norwegian Childrens Book Institute in 2009 and was prior to this the Editor of Norway’s largest minority ethnic focused web magazine X-plosiv.no (2007-2010). Mahmona Khan is a social commentator, lecturer and author. She has worked as a journalist and writer for many years.
