Seniorgamer – a project in Drammen Library

Presentation in Norwegian

Lena Hillestad is head of marketing and IT development in Drammen Library. This means focusing on the development of new services and marketing of these, and all the exciting things happening in the library. Has been involved in several development projects, and now the head of this one.

Computer games are a natural part of public library services. Drammensbiblioteket now is testing whether Computer games also are for the elderly. Can and will seniors play computer games, and how should we offer it to them? Do they think this is as fun and engaging as youths? And why should seniors play? The underlying question is whether computer games can engage and activate so that it retards the development of dementia, and whether libraries may have a role in the modern health care reform. This project will create a national model that can easily be implemented in other libraries.
